Me To The Rescue

Dear Snow,

I thought I would rescue you by sending the original recipe before your slaw goes bad. You’ve made me hungry for it, too, so I added ingredients to my grocery list.

Cheryl’s Oriental Slaw:

4 green onions (cut up), 1 pkg slaw mix, 1/4 cup sunflower seeds, 1 pkg. Ramen beef noodles, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/2 cup canola oil, spice pkg. from Ramen noodles.

In large bowl, mix onions, slaw, sunflower seeds and noodles.  In saucepan, bring to boil the sugar, white vinegar, canola oil and seasoning from the Ramen noodles.  Let cook for a few seconds and cool down.  Pour over cabbage mixture.  Mix well and refrigerate.  (I don’t let the mixture cook down as I don’t find it necessary.  Sometimes, I cook the noodles and sometimes, I don’t.  You can use any flavor of Ramen noodles.)

So, there you go.  I put the entire recipe on here in case any of our devoted readers want to try it.  🙂

If I remember correctly, when we were at Cheryl’s, she had made a double batch and it was a good thing since we all ate piles of it.  Love it!

Hugs, Royce

About snowandroyce

Snow and Royce are friends. For a long time, Snow lived in a Southern state quite near Royce. Then Snow moved back home to the Northern land of her birth. They decided to start blogging just to keep in touch because email, Facebook, and other forms of digital communication just aren't quite enough. Royce has a dog named Joe. She likes miniatures, knitting, her grandchildren, vodka, and gadgets in no particular order. Snow likes knitting, miniatures, and would like to be a voracious reader, if only she could stay awake.
