I started the Mystery Shawl KAL today—at least I got 313 stitches cast on and knitted 2 rows. Above is my swatch, which I duly knitted, washed, blocked, and photographed. Of course it’s red, which is hard to photograph. The picture doesn’t show the true color, which I think is more of true red. The yarn is Plymouth Yarn Alpaca Prima fingering weight in color 2060. I have 3 skeins, which is more than enough. I chose to make the medium size.
I wondered if you would get started today? I know it’s your big night out.
If any of our readers (do we even have any readers?) are interested, the designer/KAL hostess is offering the pattern at half price until June 8. The KAL started today with the release of Part A. There are 4 weekly installments.
I haven’t peeked at the threads over at Ravelry yet—no doubt there are a few who have knit the first 20 rows already.
