Green Beans and Primroses

I went to Horrock’s Farm Market yesterday.

On my shopping list was cabbage, green beans, apples, onion, bananas, and tomatoes.

I bought cabbage, green beans (79 cents/lb), apples, onion, bananas, tomatoes, small-curd cottage cheese, mushrooms, and rutabaga. I did manage to side-step all the treats they pile up on the people-gate to get through the checkout line—wine, orange slices, gummy sharks, chocolate-covered peanuts, Exotic Candies from Foreign Lands, and Altoids. You won’t find a Hershey or Payday bar in this area.

They had the most beautiful little pots of primroses in bright, happy colors, a nice sight on a day of day-long snowfall. There was, however, no live piano music!

I hope you’re not overtired, overwhelmed, or overly anything. I know this is a tough time.

About snowandroyce

Snow and Royce are friends. For a long time, Snow lived in a Southern state quite near Royce. Then Snow moved back home to the Northern land of her birth. They decided to start blogging just to keep in touch because email, Facebook, and other forms of digital communication just aren't quite enough. Royce has a dog named Joe. She likes miniatures, knitting, her grandchildren, vodka, and gadgets in no particular order. Snow likes knitting, miniatures, and would like to be a voracious reader, if only she could stay awake.
