My Favorite Shawl

Dear Friend:

I am glad you survived the storms!  I did see you had bad storms down your way yesterday morning. I followed along a bit on Facebook and CNN. It’s unfortunate that once again, people perished and property was damaged. We had some some unfortunate driving incidents around the mid-state area due to rain/icing/snow conditions.

The snowfall you got overnight is pretty. We have had some snow here for a couple of days, which is not unexpected for this time of year and certainly not like that silly 5o- to 60-degree stuff we’ve had a few days this month!

I have been getting good use from my knitted items–particularly my Mara shawl. It covers my shoulders, arms, and snuggles up on my neck while I work, keeping me much more comfortable. Of course, I’m daily wearing hand-knitted socks.

I do hope you have a safe trip to Florida and back. I know this isn’t the happiest occasion, but as you say, your mom was well-prepared for the final journey and  lived a long full life, so we cannot feel sad for her. It’s the void that is left behind for loved ones that can be tough.

Take care and big hugs,

P.S. Enjoy knitting group tonight and say HELLO from Snow!

About snowandroyce

Snow and Royce are friends. For a long time, Snow lived in a Southern state quite near Royce. Then Snow moved back home to the Northern land of her birth. They decided to start blogging just to keep in touch because email, Facebook, and other forms of digital communication just aren't quite enough. Royce has a dog named Joe. She likes miniatures, knitting, her grandchildren, vodka, and gadgets in no particular order. Snow likes knitting, miniatures, and would like to be a voracious reader, if only she could stay awake.
